Parents Parent Communication 9 Correspondence

Methods Of Correspondence

Newsletters

At the start of each month, from February to December, a monthly newsletter is emailed to each family. Each newsletter informs parents or guardians about upcoming events, school updates and any other relevant information for that particular month. These newsletters will also be available to view or download on the school website after the initial distribution.

Family Envelope

Each family upon enrolment will be provided with a plastic envelope for use for physical correspondence for items which are unable to be sent electronically, including payment receipts, yearbooks, forms, etc.

The eldest child in the family will bring the envelope home, and it will be his/her responsibility to return the envelope to the school. Your responsibility is to receive the contents, act as necessary, and sign the card inside the envelope to indicate you have received the material.  Whilst we prefer both parents’ signatures, circumstances at times may only allow one parent to sign and this will suffice.

The envelope must be returned the following school day.  If the envelope is lost a replacement fee of $5.00 will be charged and will appear on your next invoice. In an effort to keep the school fees as low as possible, we have instituted this system.  Please do your part to ensure this system runs smoothly.

Homework Diary

The Homework Diary is a means of communication between parents and staff for day-to-day questions, issues or notices. Some examples include: medication, homework, or early dismissals from school. The diary contains essential information regarding the department’s guidelines, assessments, uniforms, and attendance. Parents/guardians are encouraged to provide relevant information within this diary throughout the school year.  If a student’s diary is lost or severely damaged, a replacement diary will need to be purchased at the school office.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Parent-Teacher interviews are conducted twice per school year, in accordance with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) regulations.  They are conducted at the start of Term 1 and Term 3.  Available times will be communicated in the monthly newsletters and via Compass.

Parent-Teacher Meetings

Parents or teachers may request a meeting at any time during the school year to discuss any queries about a student’s behaviour or academic progress. All meetings must be arranged via the school office.
